Introduction
ArtRemains is an experimental country that was founded to provide a unique space for citizens to explore art as social action, the relevance of civic responsibility and the necessity of freedom of expression. Citizens of ArtRemains have rights that are embodied in our Constitution which is structured to maximize freedom and protection.
Unlike some art communities which regard freedom and protection as mutually exclusive goals, ArtRemains relies on innovation to allow citizens to customize their environment according to their sensibilities.

Here are a few of such innovative public goods:
First, citizens of ArtRemains are provided with a Mature Content Level (MCL) filter that consists of 11 checkboxes ranging from 0 (no mature content) to 10 (maximum mature content).
Not only do citizens MCL rate their own art, but all citizens who view that art can MCL rate it as well, the average of which determines its MCL. Freeriders can check/uncheck MCLs 0-6, tax payers can check/uncheck MCLs 0-8 and age verified citizens can check/uncheck MCLs 0-10. This MCL rating system also applies to forum threads, blogs and avatars. Tourists are only able to view objects rated MCLs 0-4.
Second, all of our citizens have a dynamic offensive word substitute filter list that only affects what they see.
Citizens can input any words they regard as offensive and input acceptable substitutes. Tourists view substitutes of the common offenders.
Third, instant restraining orders are at the disposal of all our citizens.
No one should have to convince anybody else that they are being harassed and then be forced to endure further harassment while waiting for appropriate action to be taken.
Fourth, forum threads are never locked.
If a thread is in the wrong category then citizens can vote it into the correct category. Additionally, if a topic is brought up repeatedly (dead horse) or has degraded into insults (flames) then it can be voted into the garbage bin category where participation in that thread can continue unabated.
Fifth, ArtRemains is structured so that citizens are responsible for selecting their Leaders (admins).
The quantity and quality of Leaders is decided by monthly elections.
Sixth, in order to help connect like minded citizens, ArtRemains features a powerful list comparison program.
Citizens can create up to 5 lists of whatever subject they choose, from favorite movies to favorite socially responsible companies, and ArtRemains will find the citizens with the closest matching lists. This allows citizens to connect not only by the content of their lists, but also by the type of lists they create.
Finally, the philosophy of ArtRemains is one of its most valuable public goods and can be summed up in the following three lines:
ArtRemains is enriched by the diversity of its citizens
ArtRemains is strengthened by the participation of its citizens
Without its citizens, ArtRemains is nothing
